1. A description of a key principle associated with the topic Hazards or risk in a work place are anything that cause harm or injury from a mainly a loss of balance from unforeseen circumstances 2. Use of an applicable regulation, standard, and/or practice associated with the topic or a prevailing theory OSHA 1910 Subpart D, is the regulated outline for slips and fall hazards in a work place. Mentions need of inspections on surfaces and around the building. It also states and implies “29 CFR 1910.22 requires that an employer must supply, and warrant each employee uses, a safe means of access and egress to and from walking-working surfaces”. Also, it states for regulation and preventing injury risk the are has to be “free of hazards such as sharp or protruding objects, loose boards, corrosion, leaks, spills, snow, and ice." Furthermore, these walking-working surfaces must be able to support the maximum intended load for that particular surface.”

3. A recognized or potential mitigation/elimination tactic or rationale for the theory/practice The recongized mitigation technique for this issue is twofold. This is done by “setting schedule for inspecting walking-working surfaces. Inspections must also be done “as necessary””. Also there must be “an ability to resolve any issues that are found in the walking-working surface before allowing any employees to utilize that surface,” stated as well.

4. A method of applying the mitigation/elimination tactic Methods of applying these regulations. The best way to do so is, “have a dedicated employee area janitorial staff who is adequately trained to address simple issues with the surface, such as spills, leaks, obstruction of walkways,” also to “have a dedicated employee area janitorial staff who is adequately trained to address simple issues with the surface, such as spills, leaks, obstruction of walkways.” Lastly having, “a dedicated construction consultant who specializes in repairing dangerous issues with the surface, such as corrosion, loose construction material, or sharp protruding objects.”
