Why the "A" subpage name[edit source]

As a Wikiversity custodian I often deal with disputes concerning where to put user contributions. Users want to use mainspace when others want to see the article in subspace, draftspace, or user space. We have a universal agreement that most pages do not belong in mainspace, but Wikiversity has no clear policy guidelines on where to move these pages. We have a long history of precedents whereby usernames are the top page in a subspace created using the author's username. But for me, that represents two problems: First, my name is too long. But more importantly, I seek quality collaborators. My name is not important, and is actually a deterrent to my effort to recruit student collaborators.

My dream is for Physics/A to become an informal (but refereed) wikijournal, with standards not quite as high as the WikiJournal of Science, very similar to WikiJournal Preprints, but much easier to edit than the Wikijournal drafts.

In this subspace, I you are welcome to:

  1. Edit an article in Physics/A
  2. Create an article in Physics/A
  3. Serve as a referee of an article in Physics/A

But first you need permission. Apply by leaving a message at User talk:Guy vandegrift
