Errata in Chapter Summaries[edit source]

Applies to https://cnx.org/contents/1Q9uMg_a@8.1

  1. formula for average velocity needs "constant acceleration" caveat.
  1. Time of flight needs naught-subscript in angle: (assuming you want to keep the notation consistent with the other formulas)
  1. misplaced r-naught in formula for PE wrt rnaught:
  2. Was it your intent to use E as force in equation 8.9? It seems to me that it should be:
  1. Change the confusing word "initial" to "center of mass" in the parallel axis theorem as per Eqn 10-20:
  1. Forced oscillation amplitude factor of m-squared (not m) in denominator. is right. is wrong.
  2. Same error in Eqn,(15.29) at https://cnx.org/contents/1Q9uMg_a@8.1:I8vxzBp3@3/156-Forced-Oscillations
  1. Not a typo, but source of confusion: Power in a wave for one wavelength? I suppose you mean power averaged over a wavelength. This is confusing. At a book at this level, I would prefer "Average power", and remain silent as to how it is averaged.

About the name[edit source]

I will eventually configure this as OpenStax University Physics/Volume 1, but let me finish volumes two and three first. As I am writing these, I see better ways to set up the transclusions. The upgrade to the new name will fix these issues.--Guy vandegrift (discusscontribs) 20:11, 16 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
