fostering a "developist" culture compared to a "deletionist" culture <- I'm not sure that everyone would agree with such a conflict-driven view of wiki communities, and there are some that doubt the existence of certain fairy-tale like animals. I've created an advice page on deletion, How to be a Wikimedia sysop/Wikiversity/Deletion. I linked also to a page, not yet created, on Blocking. Wikiversity is, by nature, far more "inclusionist" than the other WMF wikis. That is naturally true of academic environments, in general. Wikipedia could have gone with an "inclusionist" model, but it did not. That was a community choice made, making Wikipedia closer to traditional encyclopedias, where the "sum of human knowledge" means "summary," not "completeness." Wikiversity may actually serve to complete Wikipedia, I've seen that opinion expressed elsewhere. But it will take, obviously, a lot of work! We need to get ready for what it will take, my suggestion. --Abd 14:26, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
