Follicular Dendritic Cells (FDCs) located in lymphoid nodules (also named "follicles") have numerous filiform (or string-like) cell processes called dendrites. These dendrites intertwine with neighboring dendrites and form a network. The dendrites in the network bind immune complexes in a periodicity that is pivotal in the binding of immune complexes to B cells in the germinal centers[1][2]. This binding initiates a specific antibody response to antigens.
