Potential additions to the course[edit source]

Consider augmenting the course with these additions:

  • Develop and include an essay on "Tribes going global" to strengthen the concepts of how tribal thinking can distract us from facing facts and attaining a global perspective.
  • Add a section called "Relativity, Uncertainty, and Incompleteness" to describe Einstein's theory of relativity, Heisenberg's uncertainty principle and Goedels "incompleteness theorem" Discuss how these discoveries help us face facts rather than diminish our ability to explore what is real.
  • Add a section that describes and gives examples of the "conflict -> paradox -> insight" paradigm that leads us from an apparent conflict toward a deeper understanding.
