Talk:Cultural differences in sexuality
Add topicI am a Mangaian from Tamarua Village and completely against this false facts. I have never in my life or grown up heard of this nonsense. A big disgrace for whoever made this up or falsely supplied this information. Being a proud Cook Islander I'm disgusted, my family and ancestors never practiced or encouraged this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 110.22.6.30 (talk • contribs) 2 November 2015 (UTC)
Don't worry. This is written by Americans who have very weird ideas about everybody else and more sexual hang-ups than of the rest of the world put together! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.64.93.14 (talk • contribs) 19 November 2015 (UTC)
This all comes from a textbook called "Understanding Human Sexuality" (Sixth Canadian Edition) on page 10. This is almost word for word. --134.87.132.52 (discuss) 18:40, 25 January 2016 (UTC)
The descriptions given here are based on the observations of anthropologists from nearly a half century ago. --mikeu talk 18:31, 27 January 2016 (UTC)
Check out https://books.google.com/books?hl=en&lr=&id=H4qQPfYEWNQC&oi=fnd&pg=PA95#v=onepage&q&f=false. At page 108, Harris discusses the description of Mangai sexual prowess, and discovers that the description on this page may have originated from a group of drunk friends bragging to the anthropologist. This page is quoting a passage using a source, Harris, that directly contradicts the meaning of that passage later on. --Silver202 (discuss • contribs) 15:33, 5 September 2016 (UTC)
