  • There are some serious problems with the proposed merger. The page called Topic:Biophysics reads as a personal student page, which is fine for the student(s) contributing to the latter topical page, whereas the page Biophysics has the significantly different goal of establishing and presenting a new, International Department of Biophysics Project with novel Biophysics courses voluntary web instructors and students, as well as major resources; it would also be linked to the Wikiversity website in French with the appropriate title of Departement de Biophysique with broadly similar goals as the page Biophysics with which it is currently linked. This new, international project would be building upon, and extending, the experience with PPS--the Principles of Protein Structure, an international, web-based course initiated and organized by the Deaprtment of Crystallograpphy at Birkbeck College in London. The mismatch between the goals and especially the syntax of the two websites suggested to be merged is too great to allow a successful merger, unless the Topic:Biophysics were to become a subsection of the article Biophysics with the new title of :

Biophysics Students, or Biophysics Department[edit source]

, that is, only by voluntary agreement with the initiator and current contributors to the Topic:Biophysics page as it exists now.
