Assyrian Language[edit source]

Wrong information?

There is no such thing as the ”Assyrian language”, there for you cannot say ‘Western & Eastern Assyrian phrases’. More correct would be Western & Eastern Aramaic phrases. 05:53, 9 December 2019 (UTC)

@Shabo.Hanna.Izgin: Now renamed to Aramaic Language. Please go through the various pages of this project and correct any references of Assyrian to Aramaic, where appropriate. Thanks! -- Dave Braunschweig (discusscontribs) 20:35, 9 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Western Aramaic/Syriac[edit source]

This page has Turoyo under the heading "Western Aramaic", but Turoyo is a Western Syriac language (Syriac itself falling under the Eastern Aramaic languages). The global division is as follows:

  • Western Aramaic:
    • Jewish Palestinian Aramaic etc.
  • Eastern Aramaic:
    • Syriac:
      • Western Syriac:
        • Turoyo etc.
      • Eastern Syriac:
        • Swadaya etc.
