1932 (?), when Israel Regardie published his book on the Golden Dawn, "many initiates felt that their ceremonial power was lost thereby, and some members, such as Maiya Tranchell-Hayes, simply gave up the Ghost and buried their robes in despair" (Trobe 18).

1966, it was Maiya Tranchell-Hayes' robes that washed ashore, having fallen from their hiding place on a cliff in England.
