1895 January 10, Thursday, Mr. Somerset Hughes-Onslow and a Mrs. Hughes-Onslow attended the Dorset Hunt Ball in Dorchester.[4][5]

1897 January 30, Saturday, the Queen reported a Bal Poudré hosted by Mrs. John Lane Shrubb; Mr. Somerset Hughes-Onslow and Captain and Mrs. Hughes-Onslow attended.

1897 July 2, Mr. Somerset Hughes-Onslow attended the Duchess of Devonshire's fancy-dress ball.

1897 December 6, Monday, Somerset Hughes-Onslow was injured in a hunting accident:

Mr. Somerset Hughes-Onslow, brother of Captain Hughes-Onslow, of Colyton House, Dorchester, while hunting with the Blackmore Vale Hounds on Monday, met with an accident. In taking a gully he was thrown, and, pitching heavily, he dislocated his collar-bone, besides sustaining several bruises.[6]

1899 December 20, Wednesday, the Morning Post reported that "Mr. Somerset Hughes-Onslow has sufficiently recovered from his long illness to be able to leave Margate, and has gone to stay with Captain and Mrs. Denzil Hughes-Onslow at Colliton House, Dorchester."[7] This notice was also reported in the Canterbury Journal and Farmers' Gazette.[8]
