Costume at the Duchess of Devonshire's 2 July 1897 Fancy-dress Ball[edit | edit source]

At the Duchess of Devonshire's fancy-dress ball, William Gully sat at Table 4.[7] Elizabeth Selby Gully and Elizabeth Kate Shelley Gully also attended, according to the Carlisle Patriot.[10]

We know nothing about any of their costumes. The caricature (right) of William Court Gully by Leslie Ward ("Spy") for Vanity Fair gives an idea of what he looked like in 1896.
