Public debates is a page to list and explore ideas for possible debates which the Wikiversity community might host and engage with/contribute to. Debating is an important academic tradition, and an important skill to develop. Public debates may also be a way to bring people to Wikiversity, e.g., "come one, come all, and participate in a debate about X on Wikiversity".
Getting the first debate going...
In September, 2008, University of Canberra is (hopefully) planning a debate "the lecture is dead". One of my partners in crime (I think arguing the other side) is also keen on experimentation with new technologies, so I plan to discuss with him co-hosting the event on Wikiversity.
