Lesson Planning[edit | edit source]

Lesson Planning Apps[edit | edit source]

Using tablets are not only for your students, but also for you, instructors. How about planning your lesson using your tablet? There are lots of lesson planning apps in online app stores for tablets. However, it might be difficult to for you to find appropriate lesson planning apps because there would be tons of search results. Thus, it would be a good idea to search recommended lesson planning apps, for example, Top 10 iPad Apps for Lesson Planning, 20 Time-Saving Mac Apps for Teachers something like that.

Sure, it doesn’t have to be a lesson planning app, just use a method you want. Let’s make a lesson plan. Since it takes too much time to create a whole lesson plan, an example of an activity lesson plan will be explained in this unit.

Lesson (Activity) Plan[edit | edit source]

1. Think about the topic of an instructional activity. For example, “questioning activity using tablets with a clicker app.”

2. Consider instructional objective of the activity. Questioning activities can be used to check students’ preparation or assess their assignment. In addition, the activity can be used to increase class interactions (both student-instructor and student-student) depending on instructional strategies.

3. Find an appropriate app for the activity. This needs to be described in the “Apps Needed” with detailed explanations. Not sure how to select an appropriate app for the activity? Check out one of these pages to help get you started:

4. Specify (expected) students’ learning outcomes. This needs to be described in the “Apps Needed” with detailed explanations.

5. Describe the activity in detail. For example, for this questioning activity, you need to create questions (with multiple choice responses) to support the activity objectives. For the discussion activity, you need to plan how to communicate clearly with your students.

6. Plan assessment. Lastly, assessment plan is needed to check whether the activity objectives are obtained or not.
