1. Background of the project (problem): English was introduced in Rwanda curriculum in 1975 and since then up to 1994 it considered as a non official language used in informal situation and taught in schools as a subject. After 1994, it was raised to a higher status and later on declared as officail language along with with French and Kinyarwanda. In Octobre 2008, it was made an offical medium of instruction at all levels.
