A course on Machining in a Home Shop Environment
[edit | edit source]Content Summary
[edit | edit source]Machine shop practices, tips, and techniques as adapted for home shop use.
Goals
[edit | edit source]This course is for people that have discovered that they like making stuff out of metal, that they like metalworking tools, and that they want to learn more. They want to become Home Shop Machinists. This is not a course on becoming a professional machinist.
Caveat: This course is, at present, a work in progress. The intent is to prod the many experts at the Home Shop Machinist forum to participate. Hopefully, they do participate and this caveat can be deleted.
Home Appliance Repair: In this module, students will learn the skills necessary to repair common home appliances, integrating practical metalworking skills with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
