Colour Schemes

—Suggest to delete Brown and Blue.Reason: Brown as language related is not in the same categorization as green or mauve as educational level related. So also, Blue as non-formal can have overlap with green or mauve.203.123.181.2 07:57, 4 December 2009 (UTC)Anand Tatti [comment moved from main Help Page - Begoon - talk 12:55, 28 February 2012 (UTC)]Reply

Is the School - Tertiary distinction irrelevant?

[edit source]

Given the rising importance of portals and the decline of schools, departments and divisions on Wikiversity does the School (Green) - Tertiary (Mauve) distinction still matter? --Luke Isham (discusscontribs) 03:02, 12 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

There is no rising importance of portals. Just an elimination of divisions and departments and a reduced interest in schools. There were five schools in the top 1000 pages last month and 13 portals. This is despite the fact that there are more than 70 schools and more than 400 portals. Beyond the top 10 to 15 schools and portals, almost all other organizational distinctions are irrelevant.
As I believe I mentioned elsewhere, users who come to Wikiversity interested in creating organization rarely create content that draws interest from others. Users who come to Wikiversity interested in creating content aren't interested in organization. They just want to share content.
I encourage you to focus on content. If you want to impact your own interests or those of your students, focus on that content. If you want to impact others, take a look at Wikiversity:Statistics and improve resources that others come to Wikiversity to learn from. Neither schools nor portals will have any real impact if they aren't part of the top 1000 pages.
