Involute Gear :- It's the gear tooth profile which is the locus of a point on a straight line which rolls without slipping on the circumference of base circle. Or Normal at any point of an Involute is a tangent to the base circle.

In Involute system pressure angle is constant throughout from commencement to the end of engagement. No change in velocity ratio corresponding to the change in centre distance
