Description

This is another version of Image:Action potential video (larger).ogg, but this new version was made using MediaCoder to set the frame rate to 8 fps and the data rate to 222 kbps rather than directly transcoded with the default settings of ffmpeg2theora.

This video uses the following copyleft and public domain files:

The action potential is based on that shown in Resting and action potentials in single nerve fibres. The sodium and potassium conductance curves are based on those shown in A quantitative description of membrane current and its application to conduction and excitation in nerve.
