Objectives[edit | edit source]

  1. Integrate and adapt your knowledge and skills in the range of family therapy and theoretical models for specific needs of various population sub-groups e.g. children and adolescents, and couples.
  2. Integrate and adapt knowledge and skills in neurophysiology, Attachment theory, and Internal Famliy Systems Therapy with your learnings in Systems theory, Contextual Therapy, and Narrative Therapy in particular to contribute to your appreciation of the requirements of working systemically with trauma and abuse issues.
  3. Integrate selected theoretical models to arrive at your own individual therapeutic style and contemporary adaptation particularly around complex presentations.

  1. one 3000 word theoretical essay discussing issues relating to one of the following: Effective practice with children and their families
  2. Applying systemic frameworks to working with couples
  3. Systemic practice and family violence
  4. Systemic practice with trauma and/or neglect or other topic as negotiated.
