Conservation Entrepreneurship/branding

From Wikiversity

Compare advertisements that run on American Idol to those that run on Meet the Press. Meet the Press is the premier television show for the nation's decisionmaking elites. Why do companies advertise to that audience? More importantly, what do they try to "sell" to that audience? It is their image, their reputation; their brand, and not concrete products. When was the last time you made a purchase from Boeing? or Alcoa? or BASF which explicitly frames itself as not making things you buy (but rather things that are used to make the things you buy)?

Check out how frequently green images and attributes are advertised in this venue (clean, sustainable, responsible). Why? What keywords do advertisers use for an audience like that of American Idol?
