[edit | edit source]Module EB0003 (Cambridge International Examinations - GCE Ordinary Level History) aims to provide students with a basic grasp of Southeast Asian History using Syllabus 2158 of CIE.
Syllabus Outline

- Malaya (present-day Malaysia) and the Dutch East Indies (present-day Indonesia)
- Domestic and foreign issues since independence.
- The Indonesian Revolution

- the creation of the Federation of Malaya in 1948;
- the creation of Malaysia in 1963;
- the secession of Singapore from Malaysia in 1965.
- To what extent, during the years 1965-91, have the governments of both Malaysia and Singapore proved stable?
- While stability is the dominant impression, reserve marks in the higher range for those who do indicate the opposite, e.g. conflict with Chinese, suspension of parliamentary government in 1971. 1
