Why this resource on wikiversity?[edit source]

  • The theory of Infinite Hierarchical Nesting of Matter is best known in Russia. This article is in Russian Wikipedia, in Vikiznanie and also is in some other Russian web-encyclopedia for some years.

There is the Category:Theory of infinite nesting of matter, in Russian, where a lot of different articles, which are connected to Theory of infinite nesting of matter. But it is some problem for Russian authors to discuss it in English. What questions about it do you have? Fedosin 10:12, 6 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This article should probably stay, but needs serious maintenance. The grammar and flow of the text is awful to follow and doesn't seem to have been written by a technical expert. I notice this during recent changes patrol and looked at the Deletion discussion on Wikipedia. This is definitely an appropriate resource for Wikiversity, with the original (deleted) Wikipedia article being moved here. I'm not sure about licensing requirements, and Wikipedia deletion does create licensing problems where the article history isn't moved. My opinion about wp deletion is that, really, something of possible value should not be deleted, it should be moved to a recycle space with history attached. Deletion doesn't remove it from the database, so the only thing that deletion does is remove it from general public view. But that's there, not here.

Infinite nesting is an obvious theory, I've encountered it many times, and it's silly that this was considered something new. The actual article might be inappropriate for wp for many reasons, but, in any case, wp's loss may be our gain. Original research is welcome here, there is an assumption of good faith, so "obscure sources" is no objection at all. Please don't try to make Wikiversity into a clone of Wikipedia, which is an encyclopedia and necessarily very conservative. This is a university, where even crazy stuff can be neutrally examined. It doesn't have to be notable, it can be the private theory or research of a professor or even a student, and, in fact, we can have "lab" or "exploration" projects. I'll try to see if I can contact the original author(s) of the WP article. --Abd 15:11, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No Dismissal: Must Retain[edit source]

I find this article to be highly informative; it is quite interesting from a Science History perspective too. And since non-Russian researchers have no idea of the original Russian aricle, its English version must be retained and NOT deleted. I see no reason what purpose would be served by deletion except for giving in to efforts to suppress non-palatable scientific facts and histories. Such attempts must be resisted. Closure of RFD as Keep[edit source]
