Meetings[edit source]

18 October 2011 - scripts[edit source]

Had a great talk with Clare Hawthorne, a pro script writer in LA, who happens to be an Australian, and an orienteer.

Right off the bat, Clare made a wonderful suggestion - if we can do it.. to find someone new to orienteering, but already sporty, to play the lead role in front of the camera and take our viewers into this new sport. For an example, Clare pointed to Lonely Planet's 6 Degrees TV program, where they have 2 young presenters taking their young audiences into the not-so-lonely worlds of a tourist: http://www.lonelyplanet.com/lptv/

Clare will spend the following two weeks developing 1-2 page scripts for our 20 something short videos, with a first example to us by Thursday.

Ben, as a high(est) priority, we need to get as much nice/beautiful stock footage that we can use, up for Clare to see and incorporate into her scripting. Ben, I'd suggest the people we are asking for footage from, get theirs up on Youtube...

Our first shooting date is Wednesday 2 November, at a local bush orienteering event in the afternoon... we need to confirm our attendance with the organisers, and confirm our crew's ability to be there.. Ben, Rafael?

These notes are on the discussion page of this project's wiki, as will the scripts as they come in.
