Great topic![edit source]

Very interesting topic and I love your dot points you have. Will be really interested into seeing whether sexual harassment training actually works or whether training on confidence in masculinity/personal development is actually required. Would be interested to see what sexual harassment female to male or same genders would look like and how that would effect power dynamics --GeorgiaFairweather (discusscontribs) 11:21, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

  1. Promising development of key points for each section, with relevant citations
  2. Overview - Consider adding:
    1. an evocative description of the problem and what will be covered

  4. Include in-text interwiki links for the first mention of key terms to relevant Wikipedia articles and/or to other relevant book chapters.
  5. Consider including more examples/case studies
  6. Conclusion (the most important section):
    1. Hasn't been developed

Figure[edit source]

Suggestion[edit source]

Hey there,

Looks like you have a nice lay out! I am looking forward to reading your chapter once its complete. I was doing some research on this and I found some sources that specifically linked race to sexual harassment in the workplace (mainly in America) but I thought that this might be a beneficial point for you to look at. Racially motivated sexual harassment is huge around the world and it definitely acts as a motivator. Here is one source to get your started if you would like to take this on board :): https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1111/gwao.12394?casa_token=n18pOwiBmxsAAAAA:VUTvxqR4mpWwZKOgM4fF-Kgx43Dh5IYw55GBzkH0qBUR0kgwROPyGsLXKk8DYZ0VTOCKeyqkiG_1urg1AA U3210431 (discusscontribs) 10:50, 6 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Feedback[edit source]

Hey there, great job on your book chapter. one suggestion i would like to make is in regards to your reference list - it is important to have this APA therefore this requires proper intent, italicts ect. i really encourage you to just have a look back and edit the template accordingly

Tips:

  1. To make a sentence italic please include two dashes at the start and end of your section. for example: ''Jornal of Pyschology, #''(#).
  2. leave one space in between each of the references so they appear orderly
  3. make sure they are all in alphabetical order
  4. correct capitalisation throughout

Book chapter review and feedback[edit source]

This chapter has been reviewed according to the marking criteria. Written feedback is provided below, plus there is a general feedback page. Please also check the chapter's page history to check for editing changes made whilst reviewing through the chapter. Chapter marks will be available via UCLearn along with social contribution marks and feedback. Keep an eye on Announcements.

Overall[edit source]

  1. Overall, this is a very good chapter. It makes very good use of psychological theory and research to help address a real-world phenomenon or problem.
  2. The main area for potential improvement is incorporation of a more detailed review of relevant research
  3. Over the maximum word count.
  4. For additional feedback, see the following comments and these copyedits

Overview[edit source]

  1. Well developed Overview
  2. Clearly explains the problem or phenomenon
  3. Engages reader interest by introducing a case study and/or example and/or using an image
  4. Very good focus question(s)
  5. Ideally, provide open-ended, rather than closed-ended focus questions

Theory – Breadth[edit source]

  1. An excellent range of relevant theories are selected, described, and explained
  2. Build more strongly on other related chapters (e.g., by embedding links to other chapters)

Theory – Depth[edit source]

  1. Insightful depth is provided about relevant theory(ies)
  2. Good use of examples to illustrate theoretical concepts

Research – Key findings[edit source]

  1. Basic review of relevant research
  2. More detail about key studies would be ideal
  3. Greater emphasis on effect sizes, major reviews, and/or meta-analyses would be helpful

Research – Critical thinking[edit source]

  1. Basic critical thinking about relevant research is evident
  2. Critical thinking about research could be further evidenced by:
    1. describing the methodology (e.g., sample, measures) in important studies
    2. discussing the direction of relationships
    3. considering the strength of relationships
    4. acknowledging limitations
    5. pointing out critiques/counterarguments
    6. suggesting specific directions for future research

Integration[edit source]

  1. Basic integration between theory and research

Conclusion[edit source]

  1. Excellent summary and conclusion
  2. Key points are well summarised
  3. Clear take-home message(s)

Written expression – Style[edit source]

  1. Written expression
    1. Overall, the quality of written expression is good
    2. Some paragraphs are overly long. Communicate one key idea per paragraph in three to five sentences.
    3. Use 3rd person perspective (e.g., "it") rather than 1st (e.g., "we") or 2nd person (e.g., "you") perspective[1] in the main text, although 1st or 2nd person perspective can work well for case studies or feature boxes
  2. Layout
    1. Include an introductory paragraph before branching into the sub-sections (see [Provide more detail] tags)
    2. Avoid having sections with 1 sub-heading – use 0 or 2+ sub-headings
  3. Grammar
    1. The grammar for some sentences could be improved (e.g., see the [grammar?] tags)
      1. Grammar-checking tools are available in most internet browsers and word processing software packages.[2]
      2. Another option is to share draft work with peers and ask for their assistance.
    2. Check and make correct use of commas
    3. Use serial commas[3] – they are part of APA style and are generally recommended by grammaticists. See explanatory video (1 min)
    4. Check and correct use of possessive apostrophes (e.g., cats vs cat's vs cats')[4]
  4. Proofreading
    1. More proofreading is needed (e.g., fix punctuation and typographical errors) to bring the quality of written expression closer to a professional standard
  5. APA style
    1. Direct quotes need sources and page numbers – even better, write in your own words
    2. Figures
      1. Provide more detailed Figure captions to help connect the figure to the text
      2. Use this format for figure captions: Figure X. Descriptive caption in sentence casing. See example
      3. Refer to each Figure at least once within the main text (e.g., see Figure 1)
    3. Citations are not in full APA style (7th ed.). For example:
      1. A full stop is needed after "et al" (i.e., "et al.") because it is an abbreviation of et alii.
      2. Multiple citations in parentheses should be separated by a semicolon
    4. References are not in full APA style. For example:
      1. Check and correct use of capitalisation[5]
      2. Check and correct use of italicisation

Written expression – Learning features[edit source]

  1. Basic use of learning features
  2. Good use of embedded in-text interwiki links to Wikipedia articles. Adding more interwiki links for the first mention of key words and technical concepts would make the text even more interactive. See example.
  3. No use of embedded in-text links to related book chapters. Embedding in-text links to related book chapters helps to integrate this chapter into the broader book project.
  4. Basic use of image(s)
  5. No use of table(s)
  6. Basic use of feature box(es)
  7. Basic use of quiz(zes)
  8. Basic use of case studies or examples
  9. No use of interwiki links in the "See also" section
    1. Move external links to the external link section
  10. Basic use of external links in the "External links" section
    1. Rename links per Tutorial 02
    2. Use sentence casing
    3. Include sources in parentheses

Social contribution[edit source]

  1. ~3 logged, useful, moderate social contributions with direct links to evidence
  2. ~2 logged social contributions without direct links to evidence, so unable to easily verify and assess
