Heading casing[edit source]

FYI, the convention on Wikiversity is for sentence casing. For example, the wikitext should be:

== Cats and mice ==

rather than

== Cats and Mice ==

Case study[edit source]

Hi, it would be interesting to include a case study on compassion fatigue in first line paramedics. They work very long shifts and often at night, so fatigue would have a big impact on their ability to express compassion as well as elicit a number of other emotions. I hope this is helpful, I look forward to reading your completed chapter! --U3192645 (discusscontribs) 22:36, 11 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Inline with the above comment, it might be worth having look at compassion fatigue and impact being in a care giving role has on ones own wellbeing. Here is a reference if you have the word count to explore: Bush, N. J. (2009). Compassion fatigue: Are you at risk? Topic development feedback[edit source]

The topic development has been reviewed according to the marking criteria. Written feedback is provided below, plus there is a general feedback page. Please also check the chapter's page history to check for editing changes made whilst reviewing the chapter plan. Responses to this feedback can be made by starting a new section below and/or contacting the reviewer. Topic development marks are available via UCLearn. Note that marks are based on what was available before the due date, whereas the comments may also be based on all material available at time of providing this feedback.

Title and sub-title[edit source]

  1. Sub-title has been corrected to be consistent with the book table of contents

User page[edit source]

  1. Excellent
  2. Consider linking to your eportfolio page and/or any other professional online profile such as LinkedIn. This is not required, but it can be useful to interlink your professional networks.

Social contribution[edit source]

  1. Summarised with indirect link(s) to evidence.
  2. Add direct links to evidence. To do this: View the page history, select the version of the page before and after your contributions, click "compare selected revisions", and then use this website address as a direct link to evidence for listing on your user page. For more info, see Making and summarising social contributions.

Section headings[edit source]

  1. Basic, 2-level heading structure - could benefit from further development
  2. Avoid having sections with 1 sub-heading - use 0 or 2+ sub-headings.
  3. See earlier comment about Heading casing.

Key points[edit source]

  1. Check and correct spelling and grammar.
  2. Overview - Consider adding:
    1. an image.
    2. an example or case study.
  3. Avoid providing too much background information (e.g., about fatigue and emotion as stand-alone constructs). Briefly summarise generic concepts and provide internal wiki links to further information. Then focus most of the content on directly answering the core question(s) posed by the chapter sub-title.
  4. Some promising theory about fatigue is suggested, but there seems to be a lack of theory and research specifically about the relation between fatigue and emotion.
  5. Write using 3rd person perspective.
  6. Include in-text interwiki links for the first mention of key terms to relevant Wikipedia articles and/or to other relevant book chapters.
  7. Consider including more examples/case studies.

Image[edit source]

  1. An image (figure) is presented.
  2. Caption
    1. uses APA style.
    2. could better explain how the image connects to key points being made in the main text.
  3. Cite each figure at least once in the main text.

References[edit source]

  1. To improve APA referencing style, check and correct:
  2. Remove "Retrieved from"
    1. doi formatting

Resources[edit source]

  1. See also
    1. Also link to relevant book chapters
  2. External links
    1. Remove the current links - target an international audience; Australians only represent 0.33% of the world population
    2. Use plain text for name of source in brackets - full URL not needed
