Overall[edit source]

  1. Overall, this is an excellent chapter. It consumately tackles a large topic and handles it particularly well, with a lovely combination of theory, research and excellent readability, examples, images, embedded quizzes, keywords etc. See my edits for some relatively minor suggestions for improvement.

Theory[edit source]

  1. Excellent coverage of a range of theories related to emotional development in children.

Research[edit source]

  1. An excellent focus on research was provided.
  2. The sections on measurement were excellent.

Written expression[edit source]

  1. Written expression
  2. The chapter provided an excellent introduction, with fabulous focus questions - this really helped to set up the structure.
  3. A summary section would have been useful.
  4. Spelling, grammar and proofreading were very good.
  5. APA style: Do not cite the year for subsequent citations within a paragraph e.g., Smith (2010) but after that in the same paragraph only refer to Smith.
  6. Images were well captioned.
  7. References were in good basic APA style, but didn't have wiki formatting applied.

The accompanying multimedia presentation has been marked according to the marking criteria. Marks are available via the unit's UCLearn site. Written feedback is provided below, plus see the general feedback page. Responses to this feedback can be made by starting a new section below. Overall[edit source]

Overview[edit source]

  1. Overall, this is solid bullet-point slide narrated presentation which summarises key content from the chapter.
  2. Why is this topic important? Establish this at the start, before explaining what will be covered.
  3. Clear slides (but perhaps use slightly larger font and maybe arial)
  4. Maybe a separate slide for Erikson?
  5. Audio was clear, but could have been made more interesting with a greater variation in tone.
  6. Good to see some research used (e.g., visual cliff studies)
  7. Image attributions?
  8. I would probably suggest more slides each with less text.
