The Games of the XXIX Olympiad will start in a few days (August 8 to August 24, 2008). Is someone watching the games and/or anyone interested in creating learning resources in relation to that or in general to sports ? ----Erkan Yilmaz uses the Wikiversity:Chat (try) 12:48, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And afterwards: 2008 Summer Paralympics (September 6-17), ----Erkan Yilmaz uses the Wikiversity:Chat (try) 12:52, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am. I love sport and I was thinking about how this could be done. Maybe we could have a project dedicated towards coaching methods for different sports and hobbies. This may include tactics, drills, rules of the game etc. This would provide athletes and coaches with a place to discuss these matters and provide details of what works best. Please let me know what you think. This would probably need to be a portal in non-formal education.Donek (talk) - Go raibh mile maith agaibh 23:13, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think that sounds great. :) Emesee 23:21, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can you think of anything else that may be required? Donek (talk) - Go raibh mile maith agaibh 23:31, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not quite sure to what you are referring. Emesee 00:01, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I mean that I have suggested a few things. I was hoping this page could be a brainstorming page for the project. If you (or anyone else) have any ideas for this project other than what I have said please discuss them here. I want to get to work on this so I'll use my own ideas in the meantime. Coaching methods sounds good, other things one could do is:
We could somehow begin with this: School:Coaching - rename/add, what you have in mind ? ----Erkan Yilmaz uses the Wikiversity:Chat (try) 16:28, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was writing down some thoughts but there are too many to answer your question here. I am so excited!!! I am going to write a manual of style for each sport to (maybe) follow. When I'm done, I hope people can come and edit it like crazy!! Donek (talk) - Go raibh mile maith agaibh 19:56, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Excitement - nice :-) When you are done, pehaps it is too late for us to catch also on the excitement-train. :-( When you edit real time here, we can get infected with the fire also. What do you say ? ----Erkan Yilmaz uses the Wikiversity:Chat (try) 21:03, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Of course, that's why I want all to edit away what I have done. On the page name, I was thinking School:Coaching sports. The first manual of style is finished. Also, let me know what you think of the CAGE system. I am having second thoughts. Donek (talk) - Go raibh mile maith agaibh 21:25, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the beginning. I'd say when looking back: how about bringing in the element fun/enjoyment more into foreground ? About cage: what troubles you ? ----Erkan Yilmaz uses the Wikiversity:Chat (try) 18:31, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe just an insecurity due to the fact that I invented it. But, if people like it, it stays. If not, it goes. How would you bring fun more into the foreground? I'll try now but tell me if you thnk more is reqired. Donek (talk) - Go raibh mile maith agaibh 18:47, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Added running to the category.
