  • It's not especially clear to me what the point of Wikidebates are if they are neither genuine conversation between individual users nor documentative in a journalistic or scholarly sense, being unsigned and unattributed. I don't see how they amount to more than collections of weasel words. I recommend that users be encouraged to sign their own arguments and to remove the requirement for users to add arguments to 'both sides'. AP295 (discusscontribs) 16:07, 10 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If the current structure and rules are to remain as-is, perhaps a straightforward approach is to have the guidelines recommend that a wikidebate's discussion page be used for relevant discourse (rather than just "meta-discussion", as it were), and allow people to submit links to their essays at the bottom of the resource.
