- Tree Type: Deciduous
- Leaf: Simple
- Leaf margin: Lobed
- Leaf arrangement on branch: Alternate
- Habitat: Varies, but best grown on well-drained and loamy soil
- Virginia Range: All over Virginia
- Fruit: Egg-shaped to oval-shaped acorn, 3/4 inches long--Light chestnut brown.
