  • Leaf margin: Smooth-edged
  • Leaf arrangement: Alternate
  • Habitat: Variety of sites--grows best on moist loams with limestone origin.
  • Virginia Range: Mostly the western side of Virginia
  • Fruit: 2-4 inch, flat, brownish pods having 4-8 kidney shaped smooth red seeds--ripening in fall.
