Backwards Design[edit | edit source]

Course Objectives

  • Primary Objectives- By the next class period students will be able to:
    • Identify series connection of resistors
    • Identify parallel connection of resistors
    • Analyze series/parallel dc circuits
  • Sub Objectives- The objectives will require that students be able to:
    • Draw circuits
    • Identify electrical symbols
    • Get the sum of fractions
    • Get the reciprocal of a number
    • Use voltmeter and ammeter

  • Difficulties- Students may have difficulty:
    • Identifying what elements are in series and what elements are in parallel.
    • Using an ammeter.
  • Real-World Contexts- There are many ways that students can use this material in the real-world, such as:
    • Dissecting household circuits
    • Understanding how christmas lights work
