Broken Template

[edit source]

Hey everyone!

I've been using this template recently and it broke because of a "Template Loop" about ten minutes ago. I came and had a look and it seems like somebody has put their reference list in the template data. Is it possible this could be remedied?

All the best! DFaol (discusscontribs) 15:21, 15 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks very much for fixing, @DFaolDFaol. I've protected the template to prevent further accidental editing. Sincerely, James -- Jtneill - Talk - c 21:32, 15 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Don’t know what happened

[edit source]

I didn’t add to my references section and all of a sudden, someone else’s references appear in the code of my references section, my references are gone. It is saying template loop detected: template:hanging indent. Now I have two headings labelled references. One with an error, and I cannot see my previous references. I might very well have done something wrong by accident, but now I have got to find a way to fix it. Spring Pavlova (discusscontribs) 15:24, 15 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

The same happened to me, and seemingly a few others! I had a squiz at some of the other book chapters and it has hit them too. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

I think I just deleted the data in the hanging template. I was just trying to delete the section off of mine ( T . T )So then I just put the {{hanging indent|1=}} back. That didn’t fix the error though. But I don’t know how it got messed up in the first place. Hopefully someone in charge knows what went wrong. You can see page history though if you look at it. I just had a look at the version history (couldn't find it before for some reason :/). It seems our colleague @U3224534 may have emptied their reference list into the template source data and broken it. DFaol (discusscontribs) 15:42, 15 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
I went back through the revision history and restored it. Should work now :) DFaol (discusscontribs) 15:45, 15 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
