This template can be used to specify one or more playing cards in the suit of [[{{{2}}} (suit)|{{{2}}}]].

Usage

The following are equivalent:

  1. {{}}, {{Diams}}, {{Diamonds}}, {{diams}}, {{diamonds}}.
  2. {{}}, {{Clubs}}, {{clubs}}.
  3. {{}}, {{Spades}}, {{spades}}.
  4. {{}}, {{Hearts}}, {{hearts}}

Examples

Suit alone
{{{{{1}}}}} gives: {{ {{{1}}} }}
Single card
{{{{{1}}}|A}} gives: {{ {{{1}}} | A}}; alternatively, A{{{{{1}}}}} gives: A{{ {{{1}}} }}
Multiple cards
{{{{{1}}}|AKQJ}} gives: {{ {{{1}}} | AKQJ}}; alternatively, AKQJ{{{{{1}}}}} gives: AKQJ{{ {{{1}}} }}

Contract bridge notation

In bridge:

  • bids during the Template:Gcb are described by a number from one to seven followed by a suit Template:Gcb, e.g. 7 is a bid of seven clubs.
  • individual cards are referred to by their suit denomination followed by their rank, e.g. 7 is the seven of clubs.
  • bridge hands are described using one of several templates listed in Category:Bridge (card game) templates such as {{BridgeHandInline}}, e.g. {{BridgeHandInline|AJ3|K974|J74|KQ6}} renders  AJ3  K974  J74  KQ6
