Telnet is a command-line tool that provides access to a command-line interface on a remote host. It may also be used to test Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) connectivity. These activities will show you how to install the Telnet client on Windows.
Preparation[edit | edit source]
To prepare for this activity:
- Start Windows.
- Log in if necessary.
Activity 1 - Install Telnet Client[edit | edit source]
To install the Telnet client:
- Select Start.
- In the Run box, type Turn Windows features on or off and press Enter.
- Scroll down and select Telnet Client.
- Select OK to turn on the Telnet client.
