This page would benefit greatly from some pictures demonstrating such things as posture, finger placement, etc. --MrC 23:03, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Aye, would be nice if it also had a better explanation of the tones, tuning, proper bow handling etc. I just got my first violin today and was a bit disapointed in this article. 68.62.233.226 03:51, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, this is bad I have just tryed to add some of what I know but it will take time to type and yes if you know any one else who can play the violin ask them if they can would write it up.Applechair 07:18, 22 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary move of half-finished info-box gizmo/ Permanent move of Requests as it is history not Mainspace[edit source]

See also[edit source]

This page was requested at Wikiversity:Requests (Moved as not pertinent to mainspace, it is page history and administrative.)

(Temporary it is unsightly and detracts from an otherwise decent page.)

Violin 101[edit source]

Why has this been redirected from Violin? 'Violin' is a much broader title and less American, for instance we don't call courses 101 in the UK. Sweetie candykim (talk) 15:54, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You are not addressing the pedagogical audience of the students you are addressing. Is this supplementary information to be used by Elementary age beginners, High School or College ages beginners, Adult beginners or teachers of students from each of these levels of instruction. The resources one could list is vast depending on the teaching Methods you draw from.

At best you could offer examples of scales from several different publications. Has anyone asked violin teachers of the target audience what would be the most useful?
