Like the article that Schmidt linked to I suspected a connection with Savantism. Savantism happens when damage to some parts of the brain release special abilities in other parts, similarly I felt the breakdown in parts of the brain during the near death process could release abilities in other parts. This is a good resource on Savantism that I haven’t had time to read yet. Savbant Syndrome, Islands of Genius. Proxima Centauri 05:15, 13 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

My own NDE

[edit source]

When I was maybe 8 I was swimming in the ocean when a large wave and the subsequent rip-tide pulled me under and away from shore. I didn't know which way was up or have any sense of how much time was passing. I remember thinking how beautiful and peaceful everything was. Then another wave deposited me on the shore, completely disoriented. I wandered the beach for some time before I began to see familiar landmarks. So, was this the "beauty and peace of God" I experienced ? It's hard to say. StuRat 02:35, 15 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

It was part of the NDE,endorphins flooded your brain preventing you from feeling fear. Near-death experience gives a good summary. Proxima Centauri 08:01, 15 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Tunnel of light

[edit source]

A common explanation for the tunnel of light vision is that low blood pressure causes tunnel vision. Should this be included on the main page ? StuRat 02:35, 15 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

I'm not an expert but if you have good sources for that suggestion please put it into the article, the experts can review what you write later. I hope I know enough to evaluate sources. Proxima Centauri 08:14, 15 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Judgement

[edit source]

It only addresses the judgement because that’s as far as I’ve got so far, I’ll write more later. Proxima Centauri 12:57, 15 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
