In "Prominent Cases" it might be a good idea to have a quick summary for each case, instead of just naming the person and linking to an external site.

it may also be helpful to cite the sources in which you obtained the information about each other people as well. Sydneehudson2017 (discusscontribs) 19:31, 9 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

In "Crime", it might help to expand on what aspects of schizophrenia contribute to crime (e.g. are there specific types of delusions involved, what is the reason behind the murders, etc.) For the "Prominent Cases" expansion, could be more elaboration on the killers and/or the media portrayals they have inspired. In the last section, it might help to include more examples instead of one film. More examples can show the differences and highlight the similar/different aspects of schizophrenia that are portrayed in the media. Ashl4 (discusscontribs) 17:53, 9 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

The lead introduction paragraphs lacks citations. It is also making broad statements and generalizations of the portrayal in the media without listing any specific examples. It is also listing the symptoms of schizophrenia without citations. Victoria snow15 (discusscontribs) 19:29, 9 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

In the first table under "Statistics" it could be helpful to see the total number of non-offenders and offenders and not just the categorization. Victoria snow15 (discusscontribs) 19:35, 9 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Prominent Cases

[edit source]

While these link to other pages, many of the different cases are lacking proper citations --Meredithp2014 (discusscontribs) 19:55, 9 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

"Statistics"

[edit source]

The first sentence of the "Statistics" section does not include a citation to their claim that those with Schizophrenia are 4 to 6 times more prone to resorting to violence and criminality; therefore, there is no support to the claim and could be false.--Dsyoo (discusscontribs) 19:48, 9 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

"Statistics"

[edit source]

Wikipedia has a policy against utilizing single studies unless the results have been established in various sources; therefore, there may be conflicts with utilizing the 2015 study to provide statistics for this topic. --Dsyoo (discusscontribs) 19:50, 9 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

"Substance Abuse"

[edit source]

Wikipedia's policy states that single studies should not be referenced unless the results have been established in a literature review or something of that nature; the longitudinal study cited in this section is not sufficient to establish evidence for the link between schizophrenia and substance abuse --Eminaudo (discusscontribs) 19:55, 9 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Szaszian views of this

Would it beneficial to add information about how these issues might be seen from a Szaszian perspective? Thomas Szasz being a psychiatrist who first received significant notice for his essay and then book The Myth of Mental Illness? Michael Ten (discusscontribs) 07:08, 10 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
