Are boson operators related to bosons[1]? If so, how? Wikipedia was not helpful and had no entry that I could easily find under search for Boson Operator. Perhaps an opportunity for us to help them out while achieving a link to our lessons here? Mirwin 04:56, 6 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

OK, some applicable stuff at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ladder_operator I will be back later. Mirwin 04:59, 6 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

We might want to define operator by linking to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operators. If this is correct regarding how the term is used locally. Mirwin 05:05, 6 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

There's plenty of stuff to be added about second quantization until it becomes "understandable" he he. I'll move its priority up in my list =). --Jorge 03:59, 13 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
They are used to construct the state of many-identical-bosons systems. In the sea of particles' names, Boson and Fermion are opposite, and refer, respectively, to particles which can be identical AND in the same quantum state (as photons) and to particles which cannot be in the same quantum state IF identical (by Pauli, as electrons).
There are Fermion operators as well.--Jorge 04:07, 13 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
