I omitted the following from Miscellaneous draft clauses because I felt it was out of place among provisions of general application:
- 1.-(1) It is hereby declared that there is not and never has been any such thing as a police information notice, harassment warning notice, official warning or first warning under the Protection from Harassment Act 1997, and if a constable purports to give such a notice or warning to another person, that constable shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable, on conviction on indictment, to imprisonment for life.
- (2) This section is in addition to, and not in derogation of, any offence subsisting at common law.
[Notes Extent: United Kingdom This type of so called notice or warning appears to have been invented by police officers acting on their own motion.]
