Where is this heading?[edit source]

Principles of Public Health Practice is part of the Community Health project on Wikiversity. This year (2014), we are simply moving the existing course into Wikiversity, and changing what we can toward it becoming a course that can be studied on Wikiversity, no matter your location or circumstances. We are doing this for a number of subjects and projects, all found on the Community Health page. Leighblackall (discusscontribs) 01:20, 30 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Development meetings and notes[edit source]

  • Copy of Objectives or SILOs 2014*

Objectives

  1. Accurately describe the various concepts, values and strategies relating to public health practice.
  2. Adequately outline the often conflicting roles and interests held by the various stakeholders engaged in or affected by public health activities.
  3. Critically articulate the applicability of various strategies engaged in by public health practitioners at various levels.
  4. Define the limits of public health practice as a discipline with regards to work with ‘vulnerable’ communities within societies.

The following assignments will be used to assess you have turned these learning objectives into learning outcomes.

Assessment idea for 2016:[edit source]

  • Below is a photo exhibition however it got me thinking about assessments. I think our MHW ones are pretty good but perhaps for PHP next year we could alter one assessment as a photo + short essay on why they believe it to be a public health issue? Like the activity they did in the first week but make it more formal - but done in class?
