I am new with this but see that it really has a great potential for teaching and learning and would like to join. Being a Math teacher I am involved with a program that also teaches Basic Math to people who have no idea about Math. I saw the numbers Unit and realized that there could be useful addition to that because the basic numbers 0,1,2...9 are just the basic symbols. The next step is to explain the placement value notation and one can use this opportunity to tie it with different number bases (binary for example).

How do I go by adding a module? Is it reviewed by others before it is being added?

I will appreciate if I could Email to ask specific questions for example:

what does this mean: Place comments that start a new topic at the bottom of the page and give them == A Descriptive Header ==.

I'm an ex-maths teacher with experience of 7yr olds to adults. I've been looking for a suitable place to add content. If you are still there, Dubimax, I've taken the liberty of adding to your page. As far as finding our way around, I'll be learning with you. Barry Desborough 18:03, 28 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Medieval Arabic numerals

This is the new theory about the ideograms created by Abu Ja'far Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi (c.778 - c.850).[1]
