Ian, This is a great paragraph, very readable. I would say that your main (or best) point is more about the building-recycling (renovation) than about how popular solar panels are. So I would change the first sentence to introduce building renovation.

My goal is to make links on the main page by topic (not by your names) -- like, have a page named "Building recycling." If we do that, it would better to separate your paragraph into two paragraphs, one about renewable energy and one about renovation, and have two links.
