Magistra discipulos verbum novum docebit

[edit source]

@CarpeLanam: Magistra discipulos verbum novum docebit. » should this be Magistra discipulis verbum novum docebit. (discipulis == dative pl?) JimKillock (discusscontribs) 18:54, 12 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

@JimKillock: I believe not, because doceo takes a double accusative of person informed/taught and thing taught/informed about. doceo Also check this reference from Dickinson commentaries It's not a concept I have systematically taught but should maybe be included with a few more sentences to illustrate at some time. For example, Eum imperatorem appellant. = They call him emperor. Exercitum flumen traducit. = He leads the army across the river. --CarpeLanam (discusscontribs) 21:39, 12 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
