I've been teaching English since 1989 and I have never come across this word 'color' in the english language. I know it has been in the american language since their attempt to create a phonetic language reform. Aurantius & fuscus

Aurantius has this remark: "Not often used in classical Latin". Well, it is simply unknown in classical Latin.

Fuscus is translated as "brown". This is plain wrong. "Brown" is fulvus, whereas "fuscus" is dark grey (like the lead). 212.87.13.109 (discuss) 11:49, 2 November 2023 (UTC)
