Melody[edit source]

The current description of melody does not define melody. Needs definition. Robert Elliott 09:49, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

External resources[edit source]

Students of musicology may find the International Sheet Music Library Project to be a helpful source of public domain, and donated scores.

The Werner-Icking Music Archive also has a large library of scores available for download. --Kittybriton 12:56, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Rhycompaniment"[edit source]

"Rhycompaniment" is not a word. A simple web search will reveal that it appears nowhere else at all. It may be a noble but misplaced attempt to create one. This is not an appropriate place to coin new words. As a coined word, it is awkward. One must suppress one's instinct to pronounce it "rye-companiment", as one realizes that it must be "rih-companiment", logically. It should be replaced with a standard expression, such as "rhythm section" or "percussion". Said web search will turn up an earlier comment (now missing) on this very page. The previous commentator suggested "backbeat", but found [his] own suggestion too restrictive.
