Description of arcs[edit source]

"If an arc is extended, it will form a great circle. A great circle, however is the end of the lines path".

I can think of two points drawn in the upper hemisphere of a sphere whose arc will not produce a great circle when extended. Is it implied that these points must be antipodal?
