Introduction

This is a long range project, and will possibly be part of my Doctoral Thesis when I enter into that phase of my education. I wanted to have the project page created to start putting down ideas until I reach that point. Self-Running System

The concept of self running needs more exploration, and will be a major portion of this project. The idea behind this is to utilize students as much as possible in doing the functions a school needs to have done, so they can help lower the cost of running the school, and at the same time improve their education. Further, every teacher who was at the school would both teach, and do part of the work of the school. To accomplish such a system, the school would need to be carefully designed, because sometimes students doing tasks does not make the task quicker or cheaper, and also there are some tasks that may have risks that a student should not do at a certain point because of safety and insurance. There are also privacy issues, that would need to be looked into, such as should a student have access to records of other students? Improved Techniques

I have seen and heard of techniques for improving memory and stuff, like "wikipedia: speed reading", "speed arithmetic", "super memorization", etc. These should be explored to find out which ones are real and useful, and implement them. This is a large research project in and of itself, and may need to have its own research project on Wikiversity dedicated to it, if there isn't already one. --Jacob Walker 23:28, 13 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • Teachers receive 1 hour of prep/research time for every 1 hour of classroom time.
