Researched ways to regenerate dead batteries Seems fairly straight forward but there is some level of risk evolved. At one point you have dump the old acid out which is then neutralized with baking soda. I do not mind giving it a go as long as I have all of the proper safety equipment. Examined the donor motor and determined that it is a vertical shaft design. We will need to fabricate a mounting bracket so that motor's shaft will be in the horizontal position relative to the axle. The motor's shaft is unique in that it is tapered along key way. May have to consult with the donor to see if was mounted with a flywheel or some sort of gearing that we may re-purpose for project.Jeffreycarllloyd 19:25, 30 October 2011 (UTC)

I went to the waste facility in Carrol County in search for a steering column (possible donor; a small lawn tractor). No luck, and I was told in stern way "No scavenging". I "scavenged" in the past at the same place but either the rules change or I was very lucky. I may go back through the week and perhaps get lucky again and nobody will be there to monitor.Jeffreycarllloyd 17:25, 5 November 2011 (UTC)

I built a mock up of the motor mount. It is constructed from plywood glue and screws so not a functional version. I attempted to test the motor with a battery from my truck and the one from my car and no luck. My hypothesis is that it was not enough amps to turn it over.Jeffreycarllloyd 11:45, 6 October 2011 (UTC)

Bought used frame and modified it to minimize costs. As of now, it is a rolling chassis great for downhill; I actually tried it with no brakes and it was fast! We have to attach the motor and finish the circuitry if we want to be able to finish it by the end of week 4. Meet me at 5:00 PM on Monday 11/07/2011 if you guys want to see it.
