Homeostasis Maintaining of constant equilibrium of the body[internal environment ]

Endocrine gland Glands that secrete organic chemical compounds /messengers direct to the blood stream. Function of endocrine glands -Controls and CO-ordinate all metabolic activities in the body CHARACTERISTICS OF ENDOCRINE GLANDS -They are ductless -Secretions via blood stream Carries this secretions to Target organs and fulfil their stimulus Homeostasis brought by endocrine system is called Chemical co-ordination Small quantity of chemical secrections secreted to the blood stream are called Hormones Most homones are protein while some are steriods Dual function of homones:Can inhibit(stop) and stimulate(wake) Forms integrate system with nervous system and other homones
